In this research project the development of thermography as a method for inspection of welds with limited access will be conducted. The objective of the project is to enable weld inspection of hidden welds in aero engines, reduce the inspection time and increase the detection ratio and sizing precision. The goal for the project is to present a system able to locate, quantify and size weld defects such surface cracks.
Project title: Lean Exterior Brazing -II (LEX-B)
The project shall create prerequisites for the establishment of a national pilot facility and open arena for the development of sorting technologies and business models for better usage of textile waste.
Additive manufacturing (AM) is considered to be an example of digitalization in manufacturing as it enables production of a physical component from a digital model.
DiSAM will strengthen the competitiveness of the Swedish manufacturing industry through improved production flexibility and quicker time-to-market.
Companies are getting more and more global in order to be closer to the end-market. This put great demands in a well-structured information system.
The project aims in strengthening the international networking within automation of laser beam welding (LBW) and additive manufacturing (AM) by facilitating for mobility between two strong research environments within the innovation-intensive “Sustainable production” area.
The project is expected to generate an industrially validated scientific method for deployment of plug & produce resources with flexibility and efficiency in focus.
The SmoothIT project will develop models, methods, tools, and optimization algorithms to help Swedish industry create smoother robot movements, which will decrease energy use and increase life-time.
Enhanced on-line and post-production defect detection
The project aims at increase the flexibility for low series production, facilitate introduction of new products or new materials in robotized laser beam welding as well as securing a high and consistent weld quality.
