Research area/research interest

Nataliya Galan’s research interests lie in the intersection of entrepreneurship and management and are mostly centred around two themes:

  • entrepreneurship & learning
  • knowledge management.

Within the first theme (entrepreneurship & learning), Nataliya particularly focuses on how entrepreneurial individuals and organizations develop knowledge needed for new opportunity identification and pursuit through different learning experiences as well as how they act on these opportunities.

Nataliya’s research within the second theme (knowledge management) mostly addresses a wide range of issues related to knowledge loss induced by organizational member turnover and covers antecedents and outcomes of this type of knowledge loss as well as knowledge loss prevention and coping mechanisms.

Teaching/supervision

Nataliya teaches courses in marketing, international business and business research methods. She is mostly involved in Master’s Programme in International Business and Bachelor’s Programme in Business and Economics at University West. Nataliya is a supervisor and examiner of master’s and bachelor’s theses in business administration. She also supervises doctoral students.
