Program 201124_Summing up seminar Uddevalla Symposium 22 years.pdf

The background to this final summing-up seminar is that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a decision to cancel the 23rd Uddevalla Symposium was forced to be taken. This because of that the Uddevalla Symposia is not just about publishing innovative and high-quality research work. It is also about the venue atmospheres, face-to-face communications and unexpected connections that nurture novel ideas and foster fortuitous interdisciplinary interactions. Therefore, going online as the last-minute alternate solution was not an alternative.

Then, although that the Uddevalla Symposia, University West, has evolved into a major international conference, playing an important role in linking the regional science community with those specialized in issues relating to innovation, entrepreneurship, economics, learning, digitalization and new technologies, human capital, political science, environment, a difficult and unfortunate but necessary decision not to continue to organize this series of great and unique Uddevalla Symposia. It is now the end of an era!
