Examinations on campus requires registration in Ladok. For examinations conducted digitally no registration is needed in Ladok. Information regarding your examination will be provided by your teacher on the course page in Canvas.
In the tabs below you can read what applies to the centrally administered invigilated exam at the University West. Further information can be found in the document with rules and guidelines which can be found at the bottom of the page under related documents. In the document "läsårsplan" at the bottom of this page you'll see a schedule for the whole academic year that shows which days University West is providing exams. Some exams can be scheduled outside of these periods.
The exam dates is usually in the schedule at the start of the course, otherwise it will be published no later than five weeks before the exam date. You can also find all published exams here.
In connection with all the courses, an ordinary exam opportunity and a re-exam opportunity are offered. In some cases, an extra re-exam is also offered the week before the semester starts in August. If you wish to take a re-exam in addition to these occasions, you are welcome to register for the exam the next time the course is given, the exam will then be in accordance with the course plan applicable for the course occasion.
The exam date is published in the course schedule no later than five weeks before the day of the examination so keep you updated there.
The application link for the exam can be found either under the heading CURRENT or under the heading UNCOMPLETE, depending on whether the course's study period has passed. Click on the link, tick the box for the current exam and click the "Apply" button. You will receive a confirmation when your application has been made.
If you can't register for the exam
The registration is open from 25 to 8 days before the exam. If you can't register during this period - fill out this form.
Late registration
If you have not registered for the exam, your possibilities to take examination is subject to availiblity. Late registration must be done on the day of the examination, no later then
8:30 am for the morning exam on weekdays
1:00 pm for the afternoon exam on weekdays
9:15am for the exam on Saturdays
Remember to bring your registration certificate! Here's how to take out a registration certificate when you make a "late notification" to the exam:

Select "Ladok - My studies (registration, examination and result)"
Select "Go to Ladok - My studies" to sign in
In the drop-down list, choose "University West" and Proceed to Login
In the tab "Certificates" select "Get Certificate" - "Certificate of Registration"
The registration is made on floor 2 (at the beginning of the H-corridor), where you sign up for the "Late registration" list. Please note that a student registered for the exam has the right to arrive 30 minutes after the start of the exam. Then the places can be distributed.
When you sign up for an exam in Ladok, you will receive an anonymous code that replaces your name and social security number. On the day of the exam you sign an attendance list containing your anonymous code, your name and your social security number. This list is not available to the teachers until the examiner is to certify the grade and you are anonymous until then.
In case of late registration on the exam day, your exam is not anonymous, so remember to register for the exam no later than eight days before the exam day.
If you read an education through a learning center, you will receive information from the current learning center about exam registration and routines.
Exam at another place
Serious illness or disability can be a reason for an examiner to give a student the opportunity to take an exam at another institution or another learning centre than the one where the student is studying. In that case, examination are carried out at the same time as it is scheduled at University West. It is the student’s responsibility in good time to find an appropriate venue, an invigilator, and a place for sitting the exam.
You must be in place 15 minutes before the start of the exam. Five minutes before the exam, the exam host go through information and rules for the exam. Entrance to the exam takes place up to 30 minutes after the start of the exam. You are not allowed to leave the exam room until 40 minutes after the start of the exam.
You will recieve your personal cover sheet with the following information
Carefully read the information on the front cover of the exam. It contains information about course code, course name, time for the exam and what study aids that are allowed.
When you take an exam at University West you must bring your passport for identification. It should be placed in a visible position on your desk and should remain there throughout the duration of the examination.
The course examiner or the teacher responsible for the course will announce whether any study aids are allowed and, if so, what sort. This information will be provided in writing on the front of the examination script (read this carefully). The only paper that is permitted is that provided by the university. You may also bring light refreshments. Jackets, bags etc must be left in the area that is specially provided. Your phone must be off and placed in a bag or in your jacket.
The only accepted reason for leaving the examination room is to go to the toilet. Visits to the toilet are registered by noting, on a special list.
All suspicions of academic dishonestyduring an examination will be reported.
The invigilator will announce when only 15 minutes of examination time remain. Prior to submitting your exam paper you need to make sure that:
Name and personal number have been written on all of the answer sheets
That all of the sheets of your answer are numbered
That the questions that you have answered have all been marked on the Examination cover.
Also make sure that the Examination cover sheet has been completed.
All of the above information should be written on the exam paper before the end of the examination.
You are not allowed to leave the examination room until 40 minutes after the start of the exam. You are not allowed to take the examination papers with you until the examination has ended.
Peace and quiet
It should be quiet in the exam room. The exam host have the right to dismiss a student who interferes or obstruct the exam.
Available teacher
The responsible teacher should be available for any questions during the first two hours of the exam period. This can be done either by having the teacher come to the exam room or reachable by phone.
Fire alarm
In the event of a fire alarm, all material must be left at the desk. All students and hosts must leave the room and go to the designated place in accordance with current evacuation rules. The examination time is extended by the corresponding time that the break has taken place. If the interruption is longer than 30 minutes, the examiner should be asked if the examination opportunity is to be extended or if a new opportunity is to be offered. Total silence should prevail during the interruption.
