Although for centuries firms have been expanding internationally, globalization and new technological advancement during the last century expedite the growth and expansion of the modern firms in foreign markets. The growth and expansion of the internationalizing firms have significant impact on economy, environment, and society. In order for students to understand the importance of the existence of multinational firms and their impact in the world it is necessary for them to learn the antecedents and consequences of internationalization, the process of internationalization, and how firms seek and develop opportunities, resources and capabilities for their growth and sustenance through interacting with other actors in a network context. This course aims to create a strong theoretical background for students in the international business programme by providing them with the most important theoretical perspectives on firms’ internationalization. The students are expected to learn:

>>How firms create opportunities, resources, and capabilities for internationalization
>>Entrepreneurial decision making approach behind internationalization
