This course is an advanced course which builds on supply chain management concepts to focus specifically on challenges in managing sourcing and distribution issues in supply chains. Sourcing issues cover both purchasing and more specifically strategic sourcing looking at supplier structures and location issues including offshoring and reshoring. Distribution deals with how to reach the customer and central topics are marketing channels, the use (or not) of intermediaries, as well as transportation issues including particular challenges related to last-mile distribution in a contemporary context.
