The automation is present twice: i) the inspection process itself and ii) in the defect detection, characterization and localization. This inspection system will be capable of substituting traditionally employed fluorescent penetrant inspections. In other words: the Probability of Detection of defects with the new inspection system will be higher than currently employed techniques. Furthermore, the new inspection technique will be quicker and will provide a healthier environment for the technicians.
