Mikael Johansson about Sicomap

"Sandvik Materials Technology identified the need to further develop methods and knowledge within welding of Sandvik’s advanced high temperature alloys. The company joined the Sicomap project in January 2017 and that was the start of my PhD work.  

I work as a senior welding engineer within welding metallurgy at Sandvik Materials Technology. I work with welding in R&D projects such as alloy design; utilizing equipment, methods and techniques that have been studied and developed within the scope of the Sicomap project.

The PhD project have provided me with access to otherwise unavailable equipment. Furthermore, I have had the opportunity to access a great network of other PhD students, researchers and especially my supervisors with their deep knowledge within the scope of the PhD project."
