Pubertal timing and tempo in adolescent development: Modeling longitudinal patterns

There is substantial literature regarding the associations between pubertal status (compared to same-aged peers) and various developmental outcomes in adolescence. However, much of this research is cross-sectional, and based on samples with limited generalizability. In this seminar, I will present several ways to analyze longitudinal pubertal status data from several datasets from various countries, to distinguish "pubertal status for age/timing" from "tempo/pace of pubertal change over time", and discuss whether and how these separate components show distinct associations with developmental behavioral and mental health outcomes.
