Forskningsintresse/forskningsområde

Jag forskar inom engelska med litteraturvetenskaplig inriktning. Min forskning fokuserar främst på samtida irländsk litteratur på engelska och berör alla genrer: romankonst, lyrik och drama. Mitt fokus ligger på hur litteraturen interagerar med det omgivande samhället för att på så sätt peka på t ex samhälleliga problem och sociala orättvisor, såsom utanförskap, psykisk ohälsa, arbetslöshet, sexuell identitet, fattigdom, genusförtryck med mera. En annan del av min forskning berör filmatiseringar av litterära texter, där jag undersöker dels hur texten och filmen för en dialog med varandra, dels hur filmen för en dialog med det samtida samhället. Således handlar min forskning nästan lika mycket om sociologi, politik och historia som om litteratur och i min forskning sätts litteraturen alltid in i en social, politisk och/eller historisk kontext.

Undervisning/handledning

Jag undervisar dels på fristående kurser inom engelska, dels i ämnet engelska på grund- och ämneslärarutbildningen.

Främst undervisar jag litteraturmoment, men även t ex skrivprocessen. Dessutom handleder jag examensarbeten inom ämnet engelska och inom utbildningsvetenskap.
